Did you ever sign up to the Spotify car thing, and you are still waiting to learn if this product even exists?
Well, what if I told you that you could control your music very easily via your mobile phone connected to your bluetooth speaker in your car through the built in Alexa smart speaker on Amazon Music Unlimited.
I was never one to invest in the Amazon echo with Alexa voice control, but it’s certainly handy in the car when you hate the current song playing on your stream, like Dolly Parton for instance. Yes, I’m an 80s chick.
All you need to say is ‘Alexa’ and it bleeps to listen ‘Play the next song’ and it will skip the tune. Or you can say ‘Alexa’ and it bleeps to listen ‘Play Michael Jackson’ and it will shuffle songs by Michael Jackson.
With Amazon Music Unlimited you will receive unlimited skips, but if you are on the basic Amazon Prime subscription as I am, you get a maximum ten skips per playlist. Just switch up your playlist, or ask Alexa to play another music artist. It’s super easy, and completely free if you have even the basic Amazon Prime package, which I believe is £8.99 per month.
I think the Spotify car thing is only available to US residents, and it looks pricy at over $300. You don’t need to wait for such a device if you already own a smart phone and can download Amazon Music Unlimited.
I’ve never returned to Spotify since discovering a way to skip songs in my car through Amazon Music Unlimited, and I doubt I would ever know if the Spotify car thing will even exist for sale in the UK. If you wanted to buy the car thing to skip tunes, then you can do so for free with a 30 day trial of Amazon Music Unlimited.
