The average price of a gruum shampoo bar is £8, but they do work up an impressive lather for the hair removing hair care products and leaving the hair squeaky clean. But gruum also make impressive soap bars, which are just as effective for cleansing the hair.
Then again, I went back to soap a long time ago and my hair is very soft, but I do rely on some quite residuey products, like Seven Potions hair styling clay, for my short hair so I need a good ‘shampoo’ to remove all pf this.
Going off the subject. Sorry. Back to actual shampoos, I do like the Clarifying Hair Wash by Tropic Skincare. I’ll be writing a review of that soon. It smells absolutely divine!
Back onto the subject of the gruum shampoo bar and its fantastic range of hair and body soaps, I can’t quite remember how I found gruum, but I know I’ve tried their free skincare trio consisting of a facial soap bar, body soap bar, and shampoo bar worth £20, and this kit was very impressive.
What is also impressive about their soap bars is that they are very long lasting. You can take them on your travels and they’ll effectively cleanse your face, hair, and body, plus their scents are not overpowering, but subtle.
I think the average gruum soap bar of around 80 to 100g is also £8, but this genius brand has honed in on the wonki generation, often found in fruits and vegetables in the supermarkets, and done it to soap bars. They have called them Wonki Body Bar Cut Offs. So, if you are like me and don’t mind a less than perfectly rectangular soap bar, then invest in the gruum wonki cut offs because a pack of 500g will last you months.
If you wanted to, you could even wash your clothes with these gruum soap bars. Simply grate a couple of the soaps and add them to a plastic container, then add a small cup of soap flakes to your wash. They will work similar to soap nuts. You could start a frothing revolution with soap flakes, as they are so difficult to buy in bulk, but there’s definitely a market for them. These washing tablets and powders found in the supermarkets are incredibly harsh and contain artificial perfumes etc, plus the manufacturer always says ‘keep away from children’, so it must contain some pretty hazardous ingredients. Whereas, if your child ate a few soap flakes, doubtful they would do it again as the taste would be gross!
So if you love the gruum shampoo bar, the soap bars can be bought in bulk called Wonki bar cut offs and they start from £19 where you will receive five large soap bar (usually £8 each) cut offs. It’s great value, plus they smell great too!
